There are somethings in the world which hit you like a lightning bolt and this is one of them. I just couldnt stop myself from sharing it with others.
Bruce Lee was a legendary figure during our formative years in Dharchula. I think his poster must have given stiff competition to all devi-devatas for wall space during those days. Nan-chak or as we called it in those days "Naan-Chaakoo" was as common with young boys as maybe a cheap mobile phone these days. We made it from any piece of material, from wood to iron rods.
After experimenting with many DIYs, I managed to buy a real one out of my scholarship money and it used be with me till I passed my 12th. God knows where it might have gone by now :), surely this video made me miss that good old friend !!

We have seen the markets go from Bull Run to bear run. And in recent months we have seen it move from rock bottom valuations.... to deep rock bottom valuations. Compared to their peak prices and valuations, most of the stocks now seem to be a screaming buy. However, a word of caution for the retail investors looking for short term gains, there's no depth to this fall and the bottom is still not visible. Given the ongoing financial and economic turmoil leading to slowdown in the global economies, we may even see Sensex levels of 6500-7000 in the next 2-3 months before we see a stable recovery. Invest only if you have extra money which you do not require in the short term (1 year).
Apart from markets, life's good(",) .. Mumbai is quite a fun place. It's the land of dreams, where one gets to meet people from all walks of life; and in the process, learns and unlearns a lot from the experiences, thus enriching life. On the other hand, it's quite fast paced and there always a possibility of getting lost in this big crowd. For all the bad times I have one thought for myself, "It is never is so bad that it cannot get any worse". So, enjoy life as it comes by each day and look forward to sunnier days ahead.

Normally I also have this love hate relationship with Microsoft and windows in in particular. I came across this interesting video and I hope some of you might like it as much as I did.

There are moments in life when you know exactly where you were when that incident occured. Last night was one such moment. I was at home, slouched on the couch, had just had dinner [daal, chawal, gobi, dahi..] and was sleepy. I probably dozed off couple of times listening to the political pundits.
People at CNN were visibly excited and giddy with confidence; on the other hand Fox News people looked upset and solemn. Kavi had no interest whatsoever with the drama taking place except when the projections were being made. She was happy to be watching Sa re ga ma fame Asma and the reruns for the umpteenth time. You have to give it to her though, she sure is funny with her ‘mera baap’ lines.
As the night moved along, there were pictures of people ready to celebrate the Obama victory in major towns in the country. Presumably the victory rally at Obama home town Chicago had throngs of people filing in, some 250 thousand people. Everyone was on top of their voices and the atmosphere looked electric. I thought I could have gone to Times Square where a similar but smaller crowd had gathered to watch the poll results. I think we all knew what the results were going to be with initial poll data since last few weeks. But it isn’t until it is. [Hmm did that come out right!!!!] Anyway, at about 11 CNN made the projections that Obama was the next elect President of United States. I checked right winged Fox News and they had the same projections.
