it seems there is something called 1% rule on the web world. this post in
rajesh jain's blog took me to this article in
the guardian.
apparently this is about how normally a fewer people are involved in making content and more people content to watch/view/read. i guess thats good and bad both. Good when creators want big audience and bad when creating needs a big time participation.
in our case we need to take the ratio to higher percentage for sure. so audience out there get into makin some content for the site and not just be content by seeing whatever little you see out here :)

for last few months Amit has been struggling to find time between his job and commuting schedule, to transport rungmung.net to a new platform.
this CMS based( content management) approach and we have used JOOMLA (and open source CMS) for this ( not to be confused humla jumla and jumlis from back home )
in order to save time for people to reguster again we are tryingt to transport the user base from geneology to this. u can most probably use your old geneology logins for this. Amit has mailed users already about this.
initially a few things will be different but once we pass throught this phase of user authentication and familiarity grws it will be much better approach to our website management and usage.
please do give us your feedback
while there, try out new genealogy which is upgraded version and has a better user experience.

It has always intrigued me as to why some countries people drive on left and some drive on right. This
article tries to answer that.
As per this approximately 66% of the world population drives on the right side and 34% on the left.
Article has a full list of countries with indication of left or right drive.

Saam Daam Dand Bhed....i think this is indian equivalent of all is fair in love and war ... ( loosely translated)...
but just how fair is this ? what Materazzi said may not be as easily culpable in comparision to shocking head butt, but i am sure it isn't something which should be called sportsman like.
we have seen this in cricket where sledging or mental disintegration is being debated for last few years. in football this is the ugliest incident so far and think a debate is must on this subject as to how players should conduct themselves.
if materazzi had said what he allegedly said then there should be someway to bring that into books of rules so that people dont take unfair advantage again to provoke someone.
it is not to condone act of zidane but then it should not also let go materazi scott free from this incident.

After a lot of time thinking upon what to write about I thought of just sharing a piece of article from a newspaper cutting that has been with me 24x7 for the past couple of years. ‘tis smthing about mine urs or anyone elses conversation with GOD wud be like. Today we all are a part of a never ending rat race, everyday is a test. ‘Leisure’ – smthing this generation still has to get an idea about. Peace n time for self is smthing u don’t get know (well thtz what the majority complains bout !!! ) … jab 10th mein aaye mumma ne kaha “bus beta is saal jam ke paddle phir to aaraam hai !!â€â€¦ dialogue repeated in the 12th std …n now jaise taise college pahunche to ... “beta char saal aur …inhee char saalon mein depend karta hai tumhe kasia job milega n all …….â€â€¦ farak sirf ab itna hai tht we know tht theres no aaraam henceforth….. we all are a part of a vicious circle aren’t we ? but thn yeh uncertainties , taqleefein , pareshaniyaan to life mein hongi hi…….. yaar warna life mein mazzaa hi kyaa hai … we not only have to live thru all dese but make one hell of a life of it, right ? whatever I ll be doing in my life , there ll be many out dere doing d same thing but wats gonna make me n my life diff is d way m gonna do those things…. I ve always believed tht life s like clouds….. u can make anything out of it n nothing in this world can stop ya.
* Hope I made some sense above well if I dint this article surely will … so njoy !!! *
AN SMS CHAT THAT CHANGED MY LIFE
GOD : Hello!! You called me !!
I,Me,Myself : Called you ? No who’s this?
G : This is God !! I heard your prayers so thought I ll chat with you.
IMM : Sure I pray. Just makes me feel good. Actually, am a bit busy now. In the midst of something you know !
G : What are you busy with? Ants are busy too.
IMM : Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.
G : Sure! Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
IMM : But I still cant figure it out. By the way, I wasn’t expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
G : Well, I wanted to help you resolve your fight for time by giving you some clarity. I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.
IMM : Tell me why life has become so complicated?
G : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
IMM : Why are we then constantly unhappy?
G : Your today is the tomorrow u worried about yesterday. You are worrying because the act of worrying has become a habit. That’s why u r not happy.
IMM : But how can we not worry when there’s so much uncertainty?
G : Uncertainty is inevitable but worrying is optional.
IMM : But then theres so much pain due to uncertainty.
G : Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
IMM : If suffering is optional why do only good people always suffer?
G : Diamonds cant be polished without friction. Gold can’t be purified without fire. Good people go through trials. With that experience their life becomes better, not bitter.
IMM : You mean to say such experience is useful?
G : Yes. Experience is a hard teacher though. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
IMM : But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?
G : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
IMM : Frankly in the midst of all these problems we don’t know were we are heading.
G : If you look outside you’ll not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
IMM : Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in right direction.
G : Success is relative, quantified by others. Satisfaction is absolute, quantified by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead.
IMM : Sometimes, I ask, who am I, why am I here? I don’t the answers.
G : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
IMM : How can I get the best out of life?
G : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
IMM : Sometimes my prayers are not answered.
G : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
IMM : Thank you for this wonderful chat. I ll try to be less fearful.
G : Keep the faith and drop the fear. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.
Hoped u all liked it. Personally it has helped me a lot n I wish it does d same for all u folks as well. Always remember frnds :
“The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate.â€

Federation Internationale de Football Association (Iternational Football Federation) World Cup 2006
France Vs Italy in FIFA World Cup Final 2006 Olympiastadion

(It will be only the seventh time in 18 World Cups since the competition started in 1930 that the final has been contested by two European teams)
Place: Berlin, Germany
Day: Sunday 09 July
Kick-Off time 23:30 hrs IST
Referee: Horacio Elizondo of Argentina
FRANCE::
Entry of France in FIFA-06 was as a lamb and I guess France is clearly an underdog in upcoming final although France has no reason to fear any team after kicking out Brasil n Spain. Since France coach Domenech is opting for a strong defence strategy. I am optimistic that with Zinedine Zidane, the cool and the majestic player. If Zizou performs again in the same way he did against Spain and Brazil, he will be able to prove the old adage that "defence is often the best form of attack." Another way if they produce the same ordinary performance they showed in semi final with Portugal, they will definitely be returning Perris back without the golden cup.
ITALY::
Italy is having the striker power as they did.
Man!! Till now total 11 goals by 10 players.
Luca Toni with 2 goals and rest 9 by 9 players and there is only one goal inside Azzurri’s goal post that too is own goal by defender Cristian Zaccardo against USA and yea Cristian Zaccardo plays defence for Italy.
Team captain Fabio Cannavaro is the centre man who comes back as a defender when need comes.
Given a chance, my 2nd option for player of tournament is Cannavaro (1st is Zizou :p ).
Beginning of FIFA-06, there were 32 countries. Now, only two are left. Today, July 9, it’s the World Cup Final..!
Italy vs France..!!..
Three Cheers for both the teams Hip hip Hu….
Any ways, I know Italy is far better but “Dil kahata hai FRANCE baar baar†so far. . :)
With a big weekend for FRANCE, Mauresmo in Wimbledon Women’s Final defeated Justine Henine Hardenne (BEL) [2-6, 6-3, 6-4]
And The No. 1 seed Roger Federrer (SUI) and No. 2 seed Raphael Nadal (ESP) face each other yet again in a grand slam final.
p.s latest news: German striker
Lukas Podolski has been awarded Gillette Best Young Player beating Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal.

p.p.s. For 3rd and 4th place: Germany defeated Portugal with score 3-1.

i saw on one of the blogs that 6th july as free tibet day...
since we live so close to tibet, it is always relevant to us in direct and indirect way.
i wrote about it on another blog of mine ... so i am sharing the same here. I really dont know much about how average rung feelas about free tibet so would be nice to know from the responses.
some links
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibet
http://www.tibet.com/ ( tibitan Government in Exile)
http://www.tibet.org/
http://www.freetibet.org/
-------------------------
For many years I had always explained about my native place as area near Indo-Nepal and Indo-Tibet border. The fact that we have organization called ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police) and we have given Tibetan exiles a place in our country and our hearts too, we Indians by and large support Free Tibet cause.
But last few years of India shining and change of world order in terms of wild fire spread of free market economy Tibet's cause had got sidelined in some way. From the front pages it has been denigrated to some editorials alone. Like Green Peace activists, Tibetan activists also have been forced to do some extreme stunts to draw attention of people.
Free Tibet has been reduced to faded print on some old t-shirts from our college days maybe. For many Delhi-ites Tibet's mention is some cheap chhang, steamy momos and Tibetan market only.
Till date I also didn't know that there was a Free Tibet day. It seems this year it had been slated for 6th July. A day too late am I ? But isn't the whole world few years too late for the cause?
As China's economy booms every year and it wields more and more influence on world politics, who will get Tibet's freedom ?? Is Free Tibet relevant to world of Free market economics anymore ? World's super power doesn't mention it in its world view, UN has no strategy on it, India has given in to Chinese pressure on its previous stand.....that leaves just a few romantics and rest of Tibetan population !!!
Free Tibet ? Yes!!! But HOW ???

Recently many of the windowsXP users have experienced around the world brunt of temptingly named utility sent at the time of updates,
WGA, which stands for windows genuine advantage. i guess everyone would have thought that this would bring them some santa claus goodies from Bill Gate's house and let it be loaded on their computers.
Little did people know that after sometime this genuine adavantage would turn into big disadvantage.
As there is a huge majority of people who buy OEM installed operating systems and many users are also not aware of how software was loaded on their machines, there were shocked users around the world when doing a regular update their machine tells them in sweetest and vaguest manner " you maybe running a non genuine copy of windowsXP". that essentially means, Micrsoft is saying boss you haven't paid for this piece of software so please pay up now!!!
It has irked some people so much that
2 class action lawsuits has been filed in USA stating that WGA comes under spyware.
Now after lot of customer outrage Microsoft has decided that it will check for the genuineness only on periodic basis ( it seems this was happening on daily basis before)
People had feared that
Microsoft may employ windows kill if they think your copy is not genuine but Microsoft has denied this as of now.
But all said and done windows maybe digging its own grave if this goes on. As more softwares like
openoffice.org etc become available on
Linux platform ( essentially free) i guess windows may start losing customer base.
India, which may have a huge base of pirated windows installation can be a big threat to microsoft if the hardware vendors really start promoting Linux in right way.
Most of the Linux implementations essentially run and feel similar to windows which can help users migrate very easily.Biggest factor is that there is no way someone accusing you of being pirate!!!!
I had come across recently
Ubuntu which really was quite easy to work with. One would need high bandwidth to download it but maybe you can easily find copies from right people to try it out.
